Degu IoT System Feedback with AWS Lambda

Degu IoT System Feedback with AWS Lambda

In this tutorial we'll create a soil moisture monitoring and notification system that utilises an AWS Lambda function for cloud side decision making. We'll use a Grove soil moisture sensor to collect data with one Degu unit, and send that moisture data to the AWS Lambda function to determine whether the soil is dry enough to warrant turning on a buzzer on another Degu unit.

Degu Project Introduction

Degu Project Introduction

The Degu project sets out to standardise the core set of technologies that enable the flow of IoT data from edge devices, up to the cloud and back again. The project strives to enable simpler, faster, and more accessible design, prototyping and validation of wireless IoT sensor based systems - while also providing a path to design and full scale manufacturing of finalised sensor hardware for those looking to deploy their IoT systems.

Spore Lab is thrilled to announce that we will be joining the Degu open source IoT sensor project as a consulting partner. Launched in early 2019, the Degu project sets out to standardize the core set of technologies covering the entire flow of uploading sensor data to the cloud, with the goal of providing a simple and practical way of creating IoT device systems ready for use in the field.
